Eto’o Shows Nigeria Stars The Way By Flooring Incumbent To Lead Cameroon Football

Samuel Eto’o Fils (PICTURED) has shown his counterparts in Nigeria that they can also not just aspire for the highest office of football in their country but also go all the way and occupy it after he today floored the incumbent President of Cameroon FA to be elected the new boss.

Eto’o, 40, scored 43 votes as against the 31 polled by incumbent Saidou Mbombo Njoya.

Four of the candidates for the Presidency pulled out at the last moment.

He will thus lead FECAFoot for the next four years.

The election of the former Barcelona star comes at such an auspicious time as when Cameroon will welcome the rest of the African continent to next month’s AFCON.

This story should serve as an inspiration to other former stars to dare to take full charge of the game that brought them to limelight.

Nigeria’s Players Union PFAN has initiated Project 2022, which is to empower its members to take command and control of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) come the polls in September 2022.

Some members of the Players Union have already instituted a case against the NFF demanding for equal representation of all the major stakeholders of Nigeria Football and not the skewed present arrangement where 37 State FA Chairmen have dominated a 44-man NFF Congress and inevitably the NFF Executive Committee.

The matter comes up for hearing on February 4, 2022, at the Federal High Court Abuja Division Court 6.
