Amaju Pinnick Should Sack Himself After He Has Sacked Rohr

In Zimbabwe, the Government has sacked the country’s football federation ZIFA for “corruption and gross incompetence”.

That should be same for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Nigeria Football has been playing to the gallery since that inglorious day in September 2014 in Warri when Amaju Pinnick outsmarted his friend Shehu Dikko to emerge NFF President.

The latest saga now concerning the future of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr captures the enshrined corruption and gross incompetence that have bedeviled Nigeria Football since that dark, dark day in Warri.

Rohr is a mediocre coach and so it is not out of place that today the Super Eagles are a mediocre team who deliver mediocre results.

Rumours are that some top officials have benefitted financially and also in kind from the contract of the 68-year-old Franco-German.

It should therefore not come as a surprise that the most corrupt and most incompetent and self-promoted NFF President ever in Nigeria Football has backed Rohr for the five wasted years he has been in charge of the Super Eagles.

Rohr will get his handsome even though undeserved payoff after this latest soap opera to hit Nigeria Football has blown away.

As far as one is concerned, this is yet another distraction to shift the focus of stakeholders to the many problems confronting Nigeria Football and which could only have been scripted by ‘Scar Face’ Pinnick as he stays on course for his latest craze – a third term as President of the NFF.

The technical committee does not exist with the Chairman Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ only excited to pick up his estacode without fail and get his green passport stamped with visa from another foreign country.

The real technical committee chief Pinnick has also been the Eagles chief scout and being the showman that he is, posing for photos on social media with prospective players and their families in meetings to convince them to play for Nigeria.

The country’s biggest football brand, the Super Eagles, is in steady decline and may even not qualify for next year’s World Cup in Qatar.

The Super Falcons have aged and far from the force that conquered Africa a record nine times.

Can you bet on them to go past Cote d’Ivoire to qualify for next year’s Women’s AFCON in Morocco?

Five-time world champions Golden Eaglets have been so rubbished that they have used to curry favour from the chief of the country’s secret police in a desperate bid by top officials to stay away from Justice.

The NPFL, which ought to be the foundation of the domestic football, is a huge joke because of the reckless mismanagement of the League Management Company (LMC) led by Shehu Dikko, a serial failure in whatever venture he has undertaken.

It is best not to even discuss the other leagues because they are not better organised than inter-house sports competitions.

Yet, Pinnick will now sack Rohr after again playing to the gallery, absolve himself of any blames and still have the audacity to even contemplate another doomed four-year term as head of Nigeria Football.

He should do Nigeria Football a big favour by also sacking himself as his zombies do not have the balls to stop his latest self-promotion campaign.
