FA Chairmen Whatsapp Forum Explodes After Post Of Pinnick Swearing He Won’t Go For Third Term

The Whatsapp group of State Football Association Chairmen blew up with various reactions after one of the members posted a video showing NFF President Amaju Pinnick swearing on the occasion of his 50th birthday that he will not contest for a third term next year.

Pinnick’s declaration he will step down as the head of Nigeria Football was clear and unambiguous.

But his recent actions and statements go against this even though some of his close allies have warned him against a third term bid.

Former General Secretary Fanny Amun said Pinnick will be “pushing his luck too far” to go for a third term in office.

Zamfara State Football Chairman and Chairman of Chairmen, Ibrahim Gusau, has long been known to be the hatchet man for the NFF President, but he has since informed Pinnick he plans to run for NFF Presidency come September 2022.

Gusau was one of the reasons Pinnick was re-elected in 2018 despite widespread allegations of corruption against him and a downturn of fortunes for Nigeria Football.
