THE HARRISON JALLA PERSPECTIVE: Owumi May Soon Go Into Guinness Book Of Records As Longest CEO Designate

The appointment of Davidson Owumi, one of the finest football administrators of our time, by the NFF as CEO of the NPFL since October 2020 may be a mirage after all.

This is as Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) and a Plateau State, Jos High CONVICT running away from the long arms of the law, has deliberately built a brick wall to fend any perceived intrusion into his empire.

It’s a few weeks to another NPFL season and yet Shehu Dikko, who has over the years recklessly ran the flagship of Nigeria domestic Football aground, instead of taking the back seat he is still dreaming of staying put as NPFL Executive Chairman when a CEO has already been appointed.

Dikko relying on provisions of his so-called framework of his bankrupt contraption called LMC which he annually uses to conscript club managers, who parade themselves as club owners as directors, has used this fake structure to siphon millions of US dollars and Billions of Naira sponsorship money.

Shehu Dikko does not want Owumi in his Empire, the LMC

These are funds that would have laid a solid foundation for the NPFL and also provide infrastructure if we had a seasoned administrator like Davidson Owumi at the helm of affairs, who would have deployed his magic wand.

Unfortunately, those NPFL seed funds were frittered away by Dikko and his cohorts through Mediterranean Sports Limited.

In all these, the Royal Majesty of the NFF is helpless and continues to look the other way as Dikko has long bought his freedom by sharing.

It’s sad that the NPFL with a huge potential commercial value that is 10 times that of the NFF if properly activated is chained to the apron string of a CONVICT.

The PFAN Task Force is watching from the sidelines as events unfold.
