Why Pinnick Desperate For Super Eagles To Qualify for World Cup

“We MUST qualify for the World Cup,” NFF President Amaju Pinnick has ordered the Super Eagles ahead of Friday’s qualifying match against Liberia in Lagos.

Pinnick is desperate for Nigeria to qualify for Qatar 2022 as always for his own selfish reason – the 10 Million Dollars (more than 5 Billion Naira) jackpot is the main target.

This is the war chest he plans to put to use to be re-elected for a third time as NFF President despite growing opposition from far and wide.

And it also explains why he is pushing for next year’s NFF Elections to be shifted till after the 2022 World Cup in December.

In his crazed desperation, he has gone on to promise the players an improved match bonus for the World Cup qualifiers despite the dire financial situation of the NFF.

This is at a time the team are still owed bonuses from the 2021 AFCON qualifiers as defender Leon Balogun spilled out recently.

Pinnick seriously believes that his bid to stay on as NFF boss (his FIFA Council seat is mainly ceremonial) is now tied to the boot laces of the Super Eagles and so he has promised they will be “very well taken care of”.
