Best NPFL Season: Ex-NFF Chief Blasts Shehu Dikko

A former NFF Marketing Director Idris Adama has taken on LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko on his claim that the past NPFL season was the best-ever in the history of domestic football.

Last week, Shehu Dikko staged a media address during which he boasted that the past league season achieved many milestones as to be rated the best ever in the history of Nigeria football.

However, Idris Adama has begged to differ.

“How can our 8th position (in Africa’s best leagues) be better than our previous No 1 position?” questioned a baffled Adama.

“In 2012, the NPFL was ranked the best in Africa and 24th in the world by the IFFHS, to put it even above the Scottish Premier League.

“This was during Aminu Maigari’s tenure as NFF President and it followed shortly with the historic AFCON triumph in 2013 in South Africa.”

The former NFF marketing chief also told insideglasshouse.com that the football administration in Nigeria has been thrown to the dogs.

“The characters running the game now have lost every sense of professionalism in football management,” he lamented.
