After The Razzmatazz Aisha Buhari Cup Runs Into Money Problems

Organisers of next month’s Aisha Buhari Cup – an idea for NFF President Amaju Pinnick and gang to warm their way into the heart of the Presidency after the multiple corruption allegations leveled against them – are now running from pillar to post for the money to stage the invitational women’s tournament.

A top official told InsideGlassHouse.com that with barely two weeks to the kick-off on September 13 in Lagos, there is still no budget for the competition as the organisers are yet to meet with Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, whose name headlines the tournament.

It was learnt that so far the organisers have failed to meet with the First Lady at Aso Rock Abuja even after they waited several hours to do so.

That bad signal has also meant Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has yet to make available any cash to the Aisha Buhari Cup LOC headed by NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi.

The tournament organisers claim FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Patrice Motsepe will be in attendance.

Nine-time African champions Super Falcons of Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Morocco, Mali and Cameroon are the six teams billed for the tournament, which will end on September 21.
