How NFF – The House Of Corruption – Mismanaged Another 1.6 Billion Naira For 2018 World Cup

Again, it is now public knowledge that the NFF – THE HOUSE OF CORRUPTION – has outdone itself by how it RECKLESSLY SQUANDERED 1.6 billion Naira released to it by the Federal Government of Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

This money was meant to cover the Super Eagles right up to the quarterfinal of the World Cup, but the team failed to go past the group stage of the tournament.

The official retirement signed by NFF director of finance and administration Salihu Cheku Mohammed clearly showed how the NFF AGAIN DEFRAUDED THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF NAIRA.

As has been their GANGSTER STYLE, this ridiculous one-page retirement was not accompanied by any supporting documentation like vouchers, receipts, approvals and even breakdown.

It also contained LIES, FABRICATIONS AND FICTICIOUS CLAIMS.

ESTACODE FOR NFF DELEGATION, ADVANCE PARTY $613,858

A staggering $613,858 was reported by NFF to have been spent as estacode for their ‘delegation’ and an advance party of seven officials – Musa Amadu, Bola Oyeyode, Tunde Aderibigbe, Nasiru Jibrin, Bako, Aliyu Lawal, CP Umar (17 days).

16 board members ($6,000 each) and 11 NFF staff duty at World Cup – Emmanuel Ayebunmi, Tolu Abe, Barnabas Joro, Oke Obi, Alizor Chuks, Muniru Tijani, John Adelowo, Rafiu Yusuf, Tajudeen Tiamiyu, Sunday Okhai, Abdullahi Magaji were paid between $381 and $425 and for 10 days only.

This expense for estacode was therefore CRIMINALLY OVERBLOATED!

APPEARANCE FEES FOR 3 PRE-WORLD CUP MATCHES $327,000

FACT: Each player received $2,000 for each of the Pre-World Cup matches. This money ought to come from the organisers of these friendlies or at worst from the money given by FIFA to prepare for the World Cup.

So, where this huge sum of money really go to?

WINNING BONUS EAGLES PLAYERS/OFFICIALS $1,392,000

The NFF claimed in their retirement that $1,392,000.00 was spent to pay 23 Super Eagles and 21 officials for winning only one first round match at the 2018 World Cup (2-0 vs Iceland).

This is again A FAT LIE AND AGAIN TERRIBLY FRAUDULENT!

FACT: The players were only paid $15,000 each for the win over Iceland and they received nothing for the losses to Argentina and Croatia.

Many of the players confirmed this.

If each of the 44-man Super Eagles crew was paid $15,000 even as several of the backroom staff received far less, what was paid was a just $660,000 and not $1,392,000!

PINNICK AND HIS THIEVING BUNCH MUST be made to FULLY account for this money.

MISAPPROPRIATION AND MISAPPLICATION OF $449, 615

The NFF claimed they “borrowed” $168,500, $68,500 for the use of the country’s U20 women’s team; $158,000 for the Super Eagles 2019 AFCON Qualifier in Seychelles as well as $54,615 for the Golden Eaglets outing at the zonal U17 AFCON Qualifiers in Niger.

FACT: The NFF do not have the statutory powers to appropriate funds from a different sub-head to another.

This is MISAPPROPRIATION AND MISAPPLICATION of Government funds as the NFF do not have the power for virement.

It is only the appropriating authority that can do so and that would mean getting the Presidency via the sports ministry to make such application to the National Assembly for approval.

‘OTHERS’ $300,000

In the MOST AMATEURISH retirement ever, the NFF claimed to have spent $300,000 on ‘others’.

This is UNACCEPTABLE AND AGAIN MOST FRAUDULENT even if this sum of money was paid out as bribe to top Government officials.

Yet in all these MISAPPROPRIATION AND MISAPPLICATION of government funds, a world-renowned auditing firm like PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS could be said to have EVER given the NFF a clean bill of health?
